Welcome back to RBG’s Weekly Scoop, giving you the inside scoop on everything pertaining to the 2022 Gubernatorial Race and, most importantly, our efforts to oust Ron DeSantis from the Florida Governor’s mansion.
In the days preceding the vote, DeSantis’ spokeswoman Christina Pushaw tweeted that anyone who opposes the bill is “probably a groomer” of 4-8 year old children.
Each Democratic candidate for Governor has shown their intense opposition to the bill – both online and off. Sen. Annette Taddeo gave a passionate speech in the Florida Senate to the students who organized against the bill, “We see you. We hear you. You are loved. You are valued. You matter. And we will not stop until this state recognizes your value and worth!”
The Democrats vs. Ron
Meanwhile, in the race for Governor of Florida online, DeSantis continues to outpace the entirety of the Democratic field, spending more than $166K to the Democrats’ combined $54K over the past 90 days.
What is DeSantis spending all of that ad money on? Attacking Fauci, The Democrats, and the corporate media, of course.
On the Democratic side, Charlie Crist is running fundraising ads that tout his poll numbers and chide DeSantis on his comments to students at a recent press conference to take off their masks and “stop with the COVID theater.”
Crist’s page ‘La Colada del Dia’ is continuing to promote Spanish-language boosted news articles aimed at fighting disinformation aimed at the Latino community.
Meanwhile, Nikki Fried is running a new set of ads against DeSantis with the taglines “No more politicians in our classrooms” and “Florida’s small businesses are suffering”.
Fried has also started running her own Spanish-language ads which attack DeSantis. One reads, “No more Trump era regimes.”
